Intel Capital portfolio holdings are classified as marketable equity securities, and are carried at fair value in the balance sheet. Other strategic investments include non-marketable securities carried at the lower end of cost or market value, investments accounted for under the equity method, and equity derivatives carried at current market value. They are classified in the balance sheet as other assets, except for derivatives offsetting changes in values of other investments, which are classified as assets or liabilities as appropriate. Total portfolio value will vary based on a number of factors, including market fluctuations, investments, dispositions, and changes in the marketable status of securities.
